I was just browsing through a bunch of old photos that I brought with me from Antioch. I actually forgot I had them but I was glad I came across them. I was taken back as I saw so many photos of old friends and events that took place during high school. I say that because at one point in my life, I thought Antioch was the only city out there for me. I thought the people I knew back then would be my friends forever. Moving to Portland definitely gave me a dose of reality. God is so good. Every day of my life I’m amazed by His grace. The Lord’s presence was so evident during Friday chapel and I couldn’t help but shed a few tears. I’m so thankful for the power of the cross. I’m living the life that I am because of the blood that was shed on the cross. There’s only one way to describe it…I’m amazed.

Just left our first dorm meeting of the year and I’m really looking forward to this semester. Opening Chapel is tomorrow and it should be great! Till next time…
Another Curveball April 8, 2008

The last two days have been pretty crazy and I’m exhausted. Last night my roommate Josh was rushed to the Hospital and they had to perform exploratory surgery on him. I drove to the hospital after work so I could be there for him and his family and we were there until two am. It turned out he had a pretty bad stomach problem, which he’s been telling me for a while now, he just wasn’t sure if he was right or not. The good thing is that the surgery went great and he is doing just fine. He should be in the hospital for the next five to seven days. In the mean time, I gotta start packing up his stuff. He’s decided that once he’s out of the hospital he’ll be moving back with his Mom, and his family would like to have all off his stuff situated for him back at the house before he moves in. This whole semester has been very unique. This is the third time the Lord’s thrown me a curve ball. It’s definately been a crazy ride!
Goodbye Spring Break March 30, 2008

One of the guys in Dorm 3 recently told me that he was going to lend me his old computer for the rest of the semester and I finally got it tonight! It’s such a blessing and finishing my assignments just got that much easier. I love it.
This past weekend I headed up to Kirkland, WA with a few buddies of mine to attend a youth conference and words cannot describe what took place while we were there. Never in my life have I felt the presence of God like I did. It was nuts! I’ll even take it as far as saying that the events that took place last Friday night are now pillars that will keep me strong me for the rest of my life. It was that good! Besides all off the wonderful messages, it was just an awesome trip. I was able to spend some good quality time with two of my closer friends on campus and we had a blast! So many good memories…
Best thing said on the trip: Isaiah: “David, you were dancing so crazy!” David: “I try“
I just finished having a talk with my roommate and it was really nice If you would’ve told me six months ago that I would no longer be Matt’s roommate by the end of the school year, I probably would’ve laughed at you. Sure enough, that’s what happened. Matt moved up to Dorm 4 and Josh became my new roommate. Don’t get my wrong, Matt was a great guy to live with and I really miss all of the great times we had, but I truly believe that Josh moving in with me was a complete “God thing”. So many people ask me how I was able to let a Freshman move in with me. Truth be told, I didn’t let anyone move in with me, I wanted him to. Instead of viewing it as an unfortunae situation in my life, I saw it as an opportunity to disciple him and guide him to become the man he’s been called to be. It took a while, but we’ve become great friends. I got used to him and he got used to me. I honestly believe that Josh and I are experiencing something as roommates that most guys at PBC don’t. With that being said, it just goes to show the Lord knew what He was doing all along.
I never knew one could be so happy. Does that mean my life is perfect? Absolutely not! But being the optimist that I am, even the hardest trial brings me joy knowing that in just a matter of time I’ll be that much stronger to fulfill the call upon my life.
Rats! I have a test tomorrow. I’m going to bed…

I guess you could say this past week has been ’spirit week’ at PBC. So since I couldn’t partake in any of the events due to my work schedule, I figured I would go all out on the one thing I could participate in; Assassins! We started playing on Monday and today was the last day. To make a long story short, I won. Deal with it! To David, Taka, Joe, and Chris, we owned the game from Day 1. How sweet it is…
Special shout out goes to Travis and Dr. B! You made it happen.
To everyone else, maybe next time eh? : )

So our team won tonight which puts us at 1-2 for the season! I wasnt able to make it due to my work schedule…but we pulled off a win. It’s funny how my team wins when I’m not there, go figure! ; )
P.S. Matt & I want to thank everyone that’s been supporting the Matt and Joe show! Matt’s seriously the pillar and does all of the cool things that you see, I guess you could say I’m just his second half. We seriously have a blast together while we make each episode and we love the fact that you take the time to watch them. Stay tuned…the episodes are still comin! : )

Well, this week didn’t go any better than last week. David’s Mighty Men (Our Team Name) lost, which puts at 0-2 for the season. We put up a good fight, but our offense just wasn’t good enough for the defense we faced. Ahh well, we’ll go out next week and give it another shot…
Oh yeah, Matt and I would like to thank all of you who commented on our video post. We know it wasn’t the best footage but we did our best with what we had. We’re already working on the next few posts so stay tuned, because you never know who may appear in an episode…which reminds me…if you wanna appear as a special guest…let us know! The spots are filling up quick : )
